Maldives: A journey through pure paradise

Where should I start? A dream came true… my family and I had the most magical, beautiful and unique time in paradise, I could have ever wished for….

We booked our amazing trip by Sabine Beyer, the founder from Stopp over reisen, she had specialized herself on being an great expert about Maldives. Everything had started with finding the right island for us and our preferences and wishes. What should I say ?? She had found the most amazing paradise for us….

After 2 long flights and a layover in Doha, we were approaching male. When i woke up to the announcement and looked out of the window, i could hardly believe my eyes. Am I still dreaming or is what I'm seeing here reality? Below us are many islands and atolls of the Maldives and in front of us the airport of male..

After receiving our luggage, we were warmly welcomed and taken to the airport lounge of vakaru, where we waited for our seaplane to board.

Before take of, I heard the coolest and shortest safety announcement, not forgetting, we flew with the window open and our pilots were in flip flops and then barefoot during the flight. How cool is that ?

The flight to our island was 40 minutes, I had the brightest smile and I was taking a millions of photos.

When we landed on our island, Vakkaru, we were welcomed by the manager and the whole staff and our fantastic butler with music and drums. We were given fresh coconuts and refreshing towels.I couldnt believe where we are, this is pure paradise… these colors, amazing.

I have never seen such crystal clear water, the first ray swam past right by the jetty.First of all, Umid our amazing Buttler, was showing us the entire island…We were absolutely speechless and more than thankful for experiencing this here together.I had tears in my eyes because of happiness.

Couldnt be happier !!!

Our villas were absolutely amazing, pure luxury and there were a millions of details, where ever we were looking.One very cute example, were the welcome beauty gifts in the bathroom, on my brothers was wiritten : his and on mine: hers. How cute !! There were also lots of gadgets throughout the villa, you could control the curtains, lights and temperature settings via iPad.

And we had a hamac where I loved to spend the mornings reading, while my brother was still sleeping.The view is just pure magic… cant describe the beauty from this place in words..

Magical Sunset at our Over Water Pool Vila

Vakkaru, is offering a fantastic variety of different activities and unforgettable experiences.

On our first day, we went on a morning cruise, where we saw after a few minutes a group of pilot dolphins.How lucky are we ? Our guide told us, that they are very rare and we followed them for almost half an hour.They were playing with us and jumping around..

Pure enjoyment..we loved snorkeling in their amazing house reef, which you can directly enter form the water villa.We saw many fishes and sting rays and eagle rays and even two types of sharks. I was like a mermaid, 24/7 in the water and discovering the beauty of the under water world.

My brother and I had a couple of dives, where we started our Open Water diver.While I was diving I had the amazing feeling, that I am part of them, it felt amazing. I love diving :-)

We absolutely loved our snorkeling adventure with the manta rays. As we were gliding through the oceans embrace, discovering the graceful dances from the mantas and their majestic wings slicing through the azure depths.It had been unforgettable for us, creating memories of a moment when we became part of the underwater magic.Seeing them in their usual habitat and observing their behavior was magical and I will never forget it for the rest of my life.During the trip we experienced so many special things that I have never done before and I am full of gratitude for every moment of our time together in paradise.

We also did a turtle discovery tour where we jumped off a boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean and explored everything. We saw several turtles and also a back tip shark which was 3 and a half meters big.

The island also offers different water sport activities from kayaking, over stand up paddling to driving a jet ski and many more things.You can also enjoy the view from above, while doing a paragliding ride.And their over-water gym had been amazing, I loved working out there with a breath taking view.They also offer a wide variety of different treatments and I had one of the best massages of my life, the floor was made of glass so you could watch the underwater world while you were there and before the massage you get a wonderful cup of tea and the best foot bath, while you are choosing the smell of the oil.

Vakkaru has diffrent restaurants, to choose from: Japanese over water dining, Italian cuisine, BBQ Beach restaurant, Asian restaurant under the palm trees and couple of private dining experiences.

One evening we had a privat beach Seafood dinner, which had been very special.

And i loved the fruit station and their fresh juice station…i always got a big plate of fresh mango and a celery juice, for breakfast.

We enjoyed every single second from our vacation to the maximum and we are more than thankful for all the incredibly experiences & lifetime memories we were able to make as a family.
