Hamburg Guide

This travel guide invites you to explore the many facets of Hamburg, from its iconic harbor and cultural landmarks, culinary delights, interesting art scene and beautiful opportunities to go shopping…Hamburg promises an unforgettable journey filled with different experiences.

Last year in September, I was lucky to get to know the beauty of Hamburg. My grandma who is already an expert for the north of Germany, had shown me everything. We had a cozy stay for 2 nights in this maritime city.I loved the fact that we walked more than 20,000 steps a day.I had never been to Hamburg before, but I always loved to watch the  German series ,,Notruf Hafenkante & Pfefferkörner, so it didn’t felt completely foreign for me.Then half a year later, I was lucky to spend a weekend with my dad in Hamburg, he had gifted me Christmas, tickets for the musical ,,Frozen,,. We had a beautiful Daddy&Daughter stay, with a lot of quality time and interesting & inspiring talks.I purely enjoyed both stays in this famous German port city.

Stay:

I felt in love with the beautiful, charming & super stylish boutique hotel called Tortue (called like the turtle.)Their interior design is absolutely lovely and it feels like a Pinterest moodboard in every corner. The location is also very practical, you are able to walk to the town for shopping, just by a few minutes. The staff was very friendly and happy to assist us in any needs.

Price: $$ -> It starts from 230 euros per night (double room)

Experiences/Things to do

Take a harbor boat ride

Its very interesting to see the city by boat, from a different perspective. And while driving around, you can learn many facts, you might didn’t know before. Our boat tour was 1h hour long and I enjoyed every second from it.The captain also drove in the freighter import export area, which was nice to see.And we had the perfect scenery for taking pictures from the famous Elbphilharmonie.

Tipp: At the pier, you can choose between different companies for a harbor tour, I would recommend, to take a smaller one, like we did. There are boats were 70 or more people fit, on our boat we were less than 20 people.

Watch a musical

was a very special experience to watch a musical in Hamburg, because the building, was on a little island, opposite the pier.Thats why the experience starts with a little  boat ride to the other side. The view is beautiful and the architecture was very special as well.

My dad and I watched ,,Frozen,, which was magnificent. Highly recommendation !!

Visit the famous Alster Haus - Hamburg`s Premier Shopping Destination

Located in the heart of the city, Alsterhaus stands as a true emblem of luxury shopping .

With its prime location on Jungfernstieg Boulevard and a history dating back over a century, Alsterhaus offers an unparalleled shopping experience that combines elegance, style and the newest trends. Its worth it, to have a look behind the doors…

Uzwei-Store

A new generation store has been created that combines fashion, lifestyle and beauty.

While my grandma and I were walking around the city, we stopped by Uzwei, because we had find the decoration of the store window very tasteful designed. Its a multibrand store, you can find Stella McCartney, Alanui, Augustine Bader,Comme des Garcons,Cloe… and many more There was a little concept jewelry corner, from Arsha Jewelry.I loved their design, very elegant and modern on the same time.My grandma got me a very special gift, its my star sign on the on side and hers on the other.A symbol for our strong and everlasting connection, relationship and love, like stars.

Alster

Enjoy a beautiful walk around the Alster. We did it while the sun was setting, this was amazing.

Culinary Delights

Mirou Mou

In this place the flavors of Israel come to alive in the heart of Hamburg.Experience a culinary journey that blends traditional Israeli dishes with innovative twists, all crafted with care and the finest ingredients. The interior is perfect for their concept. We felt very cozy and loved the atmosphere. The waiters where very kind.Ive been to Israel already and have many israelian friends, so I know how typical fresh israelian food should taste like. We were very positively impressed by the food.Everything we ordered was very fresh and had a nice twist. My favorites were the Hummus, the watermelon salad, israelian salad and the delicious falafel. Tipp: Make a Reservation in advanced, its a small restaurant and they’re a quickly fully booked.

AENDRE

Its a small, very cute looking cafe with healthy vegan delights.Me and my grandma were having breakfast at this cool place.I loved the menu, with its healthy options…My order was a warm fermented oat porridge with a homemade coconut yogurt and different warmed up fruits, and last but not least I had their homemade nut butter on top. My grandma went for the Bircher Müsli with apples and a coffee.I don’t drink coffee, but they had a huge range of warm or cold alternative drinks in the morning. They also sell a few homemade items, which you can take with you, to sweeten up your morning. For example they have a Vanille Granola, nut butters or Dukah spice crunch.

I can highly recommend to anyone who loves healthy food like me.

Jin Gui

For all Asian food lovers, thats the place to be.I went there with my dad for a late dinner after the musical, and we really enjoyed our whole evening there.I directly felt in love with the atmosphere and the interior design, it made us feel like we were sitting in a fancy place in the middle of Bangkok or Shanghai. They offer a delicious range of different asian delights, from sushi to different Currys or  asian touched fish from the grill…, they also offer meat and vegan or vegetarian options.I ordered a miso soup as a starter and shared some sashimi with my dad, and for my main course I had the Black cod.
